Members in the New Canaan Garden Club (NCGC) will discover a shared knowledge and love of gardening, flower design, and photography and an interest in restoring, improving and protecting the environment. By association, individuals gain access to exceptional education meetings, conferences, correspondence and publications as well as occasions to socialize and become engaged in civic beautification and improvement.
The Photography Committee is open to all NCGC members who have an interest in learning about and sharing their knowledge of photography. Both novice and experienced photographers are encouraged to learn and experiment with their cameras through our workshops and to feel comfortable entering NCGC sweeps and GCA shows. Our workshops are designed so that the participants can immediately apply what they have learned in the workshop to the following month’s sweep.
Please note guests are welcome at all monthly meetings except those in September, December and June.
From weeklong trips taking members far afield to day trips enjoying local treasures, the Visiting Gardens committee of the New Canaan Garden Club is a wonderful resource for members to experience fabulous properties, many of which are not open to the public, and to forge lasting friendships. The committee’s primary purpose is to educate members in garden history and design, horticulture, and the environment. The committee also facilitates club member visits to the gardens of other GCA club members throughout the United States as well as the gardens of GCA international courtesy clubs.
