Plant Plan for the 2013 Founders Fund Project in Central Park

Click on the icon below to download the site and plant plan for 2013 Founders Fund Project in Central Park.  All 200 member clubs committed to funding this project which will restore two acres in Central Park to the original vision of Frederick Law Olmsted.  The Groundbreaking, held on Wednesday, October 5th at the East 69th and Fifth Avenue site, was attended by hundreds including some of our members: Catharine Sturgess, Caroline Garrity, Jane Gamber, Peg Salmon, and Susan O’Brien. It was wonderful to see their smiling faces and feel their support.

There will be a video of the event on the GCA Website along with author William Seale’s talk on Tuesday, October 4th.  I will let you know when this is available for viewing. The 2013 GCA flag was flying and the banner with the logo was behind the shovelers. It was a proud photo op for GCA and all 200 member clubs. The Dedication will take place June 3, 2013 when we will devote a whole day to this celebration in New York and call it Centennial Monday. There will be small prearranged tours of GCA headquarters for club members outside the Tri- state area and an Exhibition of the GCA Rare Book Collection at The Grolier Club on East 60th Street May-June 2013.
More details will follow.
Thank you!
