A brand-new welcoming kiosk at Irwin Park was installed this summer thanks to dedicated members of the New Canaan Garden Club. The kiosk was over a year in the making and was the vision of Garden Club member, Judy Neville who oversaw the project from the start to finish. The kiosk boasts a beautiful site map which is from a rendering done by Mike Cegan who designed the original Master Plan for the Park and the Flexi-Pave trails in 2005. The origin for the signage was from the kiosks in the Jane Watson Irwin Perennial Garden in the New York Botanical Gardens.

The 36-acre Irwin Park is open year-round for walking, jogging, exercising dogs on environmentally friendly Flexi-Pave trails. The Children’s Mushroom Maze behind the Barn and the cedar gazebo on the back trail are just two of many wonderful aspects of the park.

Through the oversight of the New Canaan Garden Club’s Irwin Park Committee, ongoing conservation and beautification projects have been completed, in collaboration with the New Canaan Parks and Recreation and Public Works Departments. Current Irwin Park Committee Chairs include, Becky Barlow, Susan Bergen and Kate Burt. Former Chairs include Judy Neville, Muffy Lewis, Katie Stewart, Gill Foster and Shelly Emery.
