Tray Touches

NCGC has a history of providing Tray Touches (originally referred to as Tray Favors) to Meals on Wheels clients. Small miniature arrangements are created by our members and delivered to Meals on Wheels clients as well as to the residents of the New Canaan Inn.

Until the 2024 – 2025 program year, NCGC organized 2 workshops for Tray Touches – one in coordination with our Holiday Greens workshop and one coordinated by the Floral Design Chairs in February coinciding with Valentine’s Day. In 2024-25 the Civic Chair added two additional Tray Touch workshops, one in the fall and one in the spring in addition to the original two workshops. NCGC’s Community Tray Touch civic project was official launched!

NCGC’s Tray Touch Committee currently coordinates four workshops loosely coinciding with the seasons. The Committee also strives to make the workshops and arrangements fully sustainable by sourcing the small votive-sized vases from the Swap Shop and composting all cuttings from the workshop.
